My Ladies

I've talked about Jimmy's guys, and now I can finally introduce you to my ladies! It took me almost a year to finally ask my girls to be in the wedding. I feel like a hypocrite since I had been bugging Jimmy in the past to ask his guys right away. Bad Jill.

I didn't ask them by making cute cards or by sending them gifts. I just asked them. Flat out.

I asked my Maid of Honor during a phone call on my way home from work. I didn't even really ask... I pretty much told her she was my maid of honor and had no choice in the matter ;) In reality, Amanda and I had discussed each other's weddings since before we were in relationships, and it was an understood agreement that we would be each other's MOH. Amanda is my best friend. We met in 2003 while both working at the Magic Kingdom on the same attractions during our WDW College Program. She lives in North Carolina, but we're closer because of our lengthy, spill-our-guts phone calls than I am to people I see every day.

I asked Alison to be a bridesmaid inside a grocery store near the produce. She was asking about the wedding while shopping and I said, "well of course you're a bridesmaid... yeah?" And she laughed and said she would. Alison is my sister and is two years younger than me. We've had the typical sister relationship where we did everything together, and fought constantly, yet always made up without having to mention apologies. We went to the same college and are very close. She'll be rocking a lip ring at the wedding, and that doesn't both me in the least. She clams to define herself with the music she listens to and clothes she wears, but on the inside is just a kind, funny person.

I asked Kris at her house while I helped her supervise her daughter's birthday slumber party. The girls were watching Hannah Montana, and we were sitting in the kitchen. I got so nervous before asking Kris to be a bridesmaid. When she accepted, she squealed and gave me a big hug, warning me not to cry because then she'd cry. Kris is my oldest sibling and is 14 years older than me. She's been like a best friend my whole life and in no doubt the person I look up to most in my life. She has an amazing family (that's her hubby Jamie in the picture) and I love her to death. She's been such a help with planning offering advice only a big sister can provide.

Megan

I asked Megan over the phone just a few weeks ago. Megan lives in Michigan and has been going through some tough times with the recent passing of her father, which is why I put off asking her until now. She is so excited about the wedding and I'm having fun talking weddings with her every week. We met when we were placed as roommates on the WDW College Program. Megan is a take-no-crap lady and is the girl I'd hope to be in another life. I love the times we're able to get together, and am so excited she'll be a bridesmaid.

These ladies mean so much to me, and I know my wedding is going to be so special because they are in it!
