We Have Music

Last night Jimmy and I met with a DJ company called Sounds Abound.

When we first began looking for a DJ we had no idea how to go about looking. You can't really critique a DJ's work without actually seeing them in action. So we went to our friends and family. We talked to people that recently got married and/or went to a wedding. Two of our friends had Sounds Abound and loved what they did at their receptions. Our groomsman Anthony's brother got married last summer and Anthony said that their reception was the best he had ever been to because of Sounds Abound. We were sold.

We talked to the owner's son (who also is a DJ and looked like Jason Mraz) about everything they offer. After 30 minutes we had a contract written up and we had a DJ. It was that simple. Honestly we could have been more thorough, but Sounds Abound seemed great and we just didn't feel like looking around anymore. I know, bad bride not searching out all the options. I'm happy with our choice.

We ended up picking the same DJ Anthony's brother had, and because they were our reference, Sounds Abound is sending them $100. Pretty sweet. When they pulled up their information to make sure they would send the right couple the check, I noticed that the name of our DJ's assistant was an ex-boyfriend of mine from my college days. I asked if he was still with the company, and he is. So on our contract under notes it reads NO B**** S******!!! We only dated a month or two before I broke up with him, but how awkward would that be for him to be at our wedding assisting the DJ. I turned bright red in front of everyone and now I'm sure B**** S****** will hear about how he is banned from working our wedding.

OMG, that is freaking hilarious about the ex BF!! Good all on making sure he doesn't have anything to do at your wedding. Awkward. I am super excited about our DJ. Though I did interview several companies, the one we went with was a reference from a girlfriend's wedding I attended. My fiance didn't think he would like them but the more we interact with them, the more he is happy about them.
