Vacations Apart And Together

Jimmy and I are no strangers to going on vacations without each other. In fact after 8 months of dating Jimmy I left the country for a 3-week tour of Scandinavia and Paris. I've also taken a week every year to go on a Disney vacation with family or friends. But I'm not the only one who leaves their fiancé at home. Jimmy has an annual camping trip in Canada that lasts up to 10 days that girls aren't allowed to participate in (not that I'd even consider pooping in the woods.)

We've taken vacation together, too. Most recently to the Dominican Republic this past July. It's been a learning experience to take trips like that together. We're side-by-side 24/7 and if I do say so myself we do a pretty good job managing travel stress. We've both been big vacationers throughout our lives, so we're looking forward to being able to see more of the world with each other. We haven't decided where we'll be honeymooning, but I kinda see it as the start of our life discovering new cultures and worlds together.

Tonight is the first day of a week-long vacation without Jimmy. I'll be in Fort Myers, Florida at my parents' new condo. My sister Alison, Steve, Pete, Anthony, and I plan on relaxing on the beach and at the pool all week. I wish Jimmy was able to join us, but because he took so much vacation time over the summer between the Dominican and Canada, he had to stay home and work. At least I'll be able to call him every day unlike some trips we take.
