Murdering Pumpkins

Tuesday night Jimmy and I went to Steve's house to carve pumpkins. We've done this every year that we've been together so I guess it's starting to become a tradition for us.

So after Jimmy got home from work we started our loooooong trek to Steve's house (about 4 minutes. I love that we live so close to him and am dreading the day he moves away from his parents.) Anyway we made a stop to pick our victims at Ace Hardware. I was a little excited to see that they were Disney pumpkins!

Disney makes pumpkins? Apparently, and if you go to the website they also make juice, fruit, cheese, milk, and a random assortment of healthy foods. Weird.

Anyway we picked our three (one for my sister Alison) and made it to Steve's house. Shortly after my sister arrived we began our creations!

All finished!

Then we picked through the goo for seeds and then baked them. It was delicious.

And while they cooked we watched Top Gun.

It was a great night.

Our creations made me think that this would be a cute idea for the wedding. We have the entire outside patio to use, and little jack-o-lanterns spread around would be perfect for an October 30th wedding. We wouldn't do pirates or cyclopses, but cute things like hearts and maybe even a few monograms! We could even have welcome jack-o-lanterns at the entrance and pumpkins with arrows cut out to light the way. We'll see if I follow through on this idea.

Pumpkins would be so cute for a wedding in October, all spread out like paper bag luminaries!
