Jimmy And Steve To The Rescue!

I have been really down about wedding planning lately.

I feel like time is flying by, I'm not getting anything done fast enough, and the to-do list keeps growing instead of getting shorter. Plus add to that I'm the only one working on the wedding. I ask for Jimmy's input, but in the end it's me doing all the work.

On Sunday I asked Jimmy when I was supposed to start having fun with the wedding. His response? "October 29th." He knows how stressed this planning is making me, so on Tuesday night while I was at work, he and Steve took some action!!

They went out and booked our rehearsal dinner location!! I was serious when I spoke before about wanting to have our rehearsal dinner at Brick House Tavern and Tap. It's seriously become my favorite place to get great food. Jimmy and I didn't want something fancy and uptight for the RD. We wanted a fun dinner with our closest family and friends where we could relax and enjoy some great food and drinks.

We will have a private area in the restaurant called "The Man Cave." Complete with fully operational garage door-like walls, more HDTVs than we'd be able to watch, and enough space to fit up to 80 people (we'll have closer to 30)... all for FREE!!

Free is a word I love!! They don't charge for the use of their Man Cave. According to Jimmy the manager of the Brick House near us was really friendly and didn't think it was weird at all that they'd be hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner.

She told Jimmy and Steve that we could give our guests the option of their entire menu, or we could pick and choose their options. We can set up the tab however we like. We can set a maximum limit for food and/or drinks if we choose. What we'll probably do is pay for all food and non-alcoholic drinks, and set a max for alcoholic drinks. Once that limit is reached our guests can then pay for anything else they want to drink. I don't see anyone going crazy on alcohol the night before the wedding, so I don't think this will be an issue.

We can use the TVs anyway we like. There will probably be baseball playoff games that night, we can play a slideshow of Jimmy and I, and we can set up our own music.

I am so excited for our RD!! Our location is definitely not something everyone would choose, but I'm confident everyone that comes will have a good time and love the food.

But that's not the only way Jimmy and Steve came to my rescue!!

On Wednesday they registered at the tuxedo rental place for tuxes!! They chose the tux style and vest/tie colors for everyone that will be renting tuxes for the wedding. Now all any of the men need to do is go to one of GQ Formalwear's locations to get measured and place their orders!! One more thing to cross off without having to do any work!!

So happy that they jumped into action when I was needing a bit of a break. Now I'm ready to get back in the game and meet our officiant to nail down the ceremony details!

Wahoo! Your rehersal dinner sounds awesome, I love it when venues are flexible. I would definitely have a playoff game on the TVs! We haven't done anything for our RD yet , we are waaaaaaaay behind!
