The Browns' Wedding

On Friday, June 4th, 2010, my cousin Adam married his high school sweetheart Allison.

Rain threatened all day long, but the skies cleared for just long enough for them to have pictures taken outdoors, and for the guests to arrive at the church. As soon as the ceremony started it started to pour. Luckily by the time everyone started to head back to their cars to get to the reception, there was no more rain for the rest of the night. Perfect.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. The officiant dubbed their wedding "simple elegance," and it was just that. Their colors were watermelon and silver.

My sister-in-law was the soloist and sang as beautiful as ever, and her two children, my niece and nephew were the flower girl and ring bearer. It was so wonderful to be able to spend such a great event with my entire family.

They did a combined mother/son and father/daughter dance to the song "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts.

I don't think I've ever danced more at a wedding. Jimmy, Alison (my sister), Steve (Alison's date/our best man), and I kinda had to get the DJ to play songs that people would actually dance to, and then for a while we were the only people out on the dance floor. After not too long other guests joined us, and we closed out the dance floor that night!

Me and Jimmy. He was so dapper in his suit. I can't get enough of him.

What I learned from Adam and Allison's wedding:
  • Don't sweat things that go wrong. Someone left the programs behind, and no one got them at the ceremony. It wasn't a big deal, and I don't think many people noticed.
  • I love my photographer! The photographer that shot their wedding was pretty annoying. He made an obnoxious amount of noise during the ceremony, was in everyone's faces the entire night, and even asked a friend of the groom out on a date. He was so skeezy and semi-unprofessional. I'm sure the pictures will turn out well because I've seen the work he did on their engagement photos, but I don't think I will ever forget how he acted that day.
  • Savor every second. The night went by so quickly. I can't imagine how fast our wedding day will fly by.

Alex made it to 11:15 that night.

I am so happy for Adam and Allison. They are in Antigua right now enjoying their honeymoon. Love them both.

"They did a combined mother/son and father/daughter dance to the song "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts." - This is our plan too!
