Happy Holidays

Between the crazy hours I was putting in at work, the flu, and family time, this blog fell to the wayside. Plus the wedding is going absolutely no where these days. In the weeks following New Years Jimmy and I do plan to finally pick a church, start our registry, find a DJ, and talk to our florist. So hopefully I will be a little bogging maniac next year!

Last week started off with me getting the flu. I had a very high fever and I was stuck in bed from Sunday to Wednesday, unable to go to work until Wednesday morning.

Christmas eve was spent at work and then at Jimmy's cousin's house for a party. I hadn't seen any of this part of Jimmy's family since last year, so we got to talk lots of the engagement. From there we went to Christmas Eve service at Jimmy's family church at 11pm. We also got some VERY exciting news. Jimmy's brother and SIL are expecting their first child! We'll have a little bitty (teeny tiny) baby at the wedding!

Jimmy and I spent early Christmas morning at his house where we opened presents by the tree before going to his parents' house for gifts and breakfast. The rest of the day we lounged around and watched Julie and Julia with this parents before going to another cousin's house for dinner.

Saturday was Christmas at my parents' house. My sister Kris and her family came up and we opened presents around the Christmas tree. For dinner we all went to my Uncle's house and spent the night playing Apples to Apples.

It was an exhausting few days...especially after having the flu, but it's one of my favorite times of the year. It's hard to believe that next year we'll be a married couple!

This week I'm back to work and possibly moving if I can find the time before New Years. Luckily Jimmy and I will not be hosting the NYE party so I won't have to worry about a clean house on top of moving. My plan is to move tomorrow since it's my day off during the week, and this weekend will be spent at my sister's house since my nephew Kaleb has his 10th birthday party on Saturday. If not it will have to wait until Sunday.

All those plans could be changed in an instant though, because my grandma is being put in hospice this afternoon. She's in kidney failure and has pneumonia. We've been expecting this for a while now. She has severe dementia and no longer talks. It's been a quick downhill slope since Grandpa passed away in April. I think she's ready to be reunited with him.

I hope everyone has a safe New Years this weekend! If I do end up moving I'll try to post again within the week. Hopefully with lots of pictures and you can see where Jimmy and I call home. This post was too word heavy.
