Blown Away

Yesterday I wanted to try out a recipe I had received from a friend of mine, so I gathered all the ingredients and hauled (the very heavy) Kitchenaid Mixer from its roost on top of the fridge. After almost dropping it and killing myself (note to self, find a better place to store mixer), I got to work. And oh my goodness. I don't know how I baked without this thing. While it mixes I can start clean-up or get the next step ready.

Sorry about the randomness, I just had to share. And if any of you are interested in a cookie cake (but better) type recipe...

Lethal Layers

Bottom Layer:

½ cup butter

½ cup brown sugar

1 cup flour

Top Layer:

2 eggs

1 cup brown sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

½ tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking powder

¼ cup flour

1 cup chocolate chips

Powdered sugar (optional)

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9x13” pan. Mix butter, ½ c brown sugar, and 1 c flour. Pat into greased pan. Bake 10 minutes and allow to cool.

Beat eggs and 1c brown sugar until thick. Add vanilla.

Put salt and baking powder in ¼ c measuring cup. Then add flour to make ¼ c. Blend into egg/sugar mixture. Pour over crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Bake 20 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
