I want to start living a healthier life. Eating better foods and being more active. I've been seriously thinking about starting the Couch to 5K Program.
I've never been a runner. EVER. I think the most I've ever run was in high school gym when they make you run the mile, and I complained the entire way.
Jimmy used to run a lot, even ran a 10K 2 years ago. Unfortunately he's fallen out of that habit, but recently has been asking me if I want to start running with him. I'm scared to. I'm too embarrassed that he'll see how out of shape I am and could really only run along with him a few blocks before keeling over. I'm scared to exercise with my own fiancé!!!
Couch to 5K appeals to me because I've heard so many good things about it, I'd be getting some much needed exercise, it's something I feel like I can accomplish, and hopefully eventually Jimmy and I will be able to run together. I'm not sure when I'll start, but I'm looking forward to it.

You can do this! I smoked for 4 years, and I quit 2 years ago, and last year I ran 2 half marathons. Keep in mind you've got to start somewhere, and the Galloway method is great...it's a walk/run thing. For example, you'd walk for 1 minute, run for 1 minute.
Good luck, can't wait to hear how it goes!
Hello! I'm over here from weddingbee :)
I started couch to 5k two weeks ago because I'm trying to recover from a running injury (and from sitting on the couch all those months I was injured and you know, eating Ben and Jerry's out of the carton!) It's great and super-easy. Granted I'm only on week 3, but the pace has been good so far. The 30 minutes FLY by. Good luck!!
OMG I am in the same position as you...except I have a dress fitting in less than 2 months!!! EEK!!! I need to get my lazy butt off the couch...Unfortnately I'm not a runner and it's too cold here to run outside. Good for you though...Let's get moving!
I used to be in such great athletic shape but like you, I am so lazy about exercise. I do eat healthy, but not nearly enough when I'm rushing about my day. And I hate to say it, but I don't really need to worry about gaining weight because I am stick thin! But my daughter started running for cross country this past summer and I would go with her in the mornings before work for just a 1.5 or 2 mile run. I was dying! It made me realize that I really need to get into shape just to keep up my cardio and athleticism. You can do it, just don't worry if you're keeling over in front of the fiance for a while until you build up your endurance.
