We went back to where Jimmy bought my engagement ring, The Jewelry Exchange. If any of you have seen the commercials for The Jewelry Exchange, you may be like I was and think, "Ew, that place looks really gross." Honestly I was just being a snob. In reality The Jewelry Exchange is a really great place to get great jewelry at prices way lower than other big name stores.
The one near us has really friendly sellers that are so informative. I love going in there to get my ring cleaned because of how friendly they are.
So last night we went to look for rings after dinner. If you remember, our last outing to look for rings was a bust. This time Jimmy actually was in the mood to look so I knew we already were starting out in a better place compared to last time.
We started with rings for me. We looked at every single diamond wedding band they carried. I wanted to make sure I absolutely loved what I chose, and wasn't afraid to walk away empty handed. I did still have a ring in mind from when we went to Jared. The whole time I kept going back to this one ring. After rejecting all the others, I inspected and scrutinized over this ring for a good 15 minutes. Finally with Jimmy's approval I made the decision to get it.
After Jimmy paid for my ring and it was sitting nicely in my purse (the ring he showed us was the exact size I needed so I got to take it home last night!!) we moved on to rings for Jimmy.
I think it helped that our sales associate was a guy, because Jimmy was so comfortable trying on all the rings that caught his eye. The two of them were even joking back and forth the whole time!
I thought Jimmy would pick a simple white gold band with no detailing, but he started focusing on rings with a little more flair. I was really surprised at how much I liked the fancier rings on him. In the end he was torn between two rings. One was white gold with two yellow gold rope-looking bands around the center. The other is the ring he ended up choosing.
It looks really good on him, which I didn't think I was ever going to be able to say because everything else he tried just looked silly. I ordered it, and it should come in about 8 weeks.
After we left we went to Best Man Steve's house. We were chatting and he was looking at my new ring. We had a funny little conversation.
Him: So what is this ring for?
Me: It's the wedding band. The ring I'll get at the ceremony... and YOU are the one that gets to hold it on the wedding day!
Him: eyes open wide... I do!? Then what do those little children things do?
Me: You mean flower girls and ring bearers? We're not having them.
Him: Are you doing the candle lighty thingy?
Me: A unity candle? No.
Him: Sweet. I like your style.

Rings are gorgeous! I chose an eternity band too. Mr Milk went for a simple platinum band.
Exciting! I am sure it will look great with your engagement ring...can't wait to see it all together!
