Starting To Feel Like A Rohde

This weekend Jimmy and I went up to Green Lake.  Jimmy's Uncle Chuck passed away suddenly, and we both wanted to keep Grandma June company as well as attend the memorial service on Saturday.

I finally am beginning to feel like a part of the Rohde family.  Chuck's son Ryan was given the daunting task of putting together photo collages and as any 16 year old would, kept putting it off. So Friday night before the rest of the family arrived, Ryan, Jimmy, June, and I got to work.  We searched through piles of pictures and ended up with 4 frames full of pictures.

When Dick arrived around 5pm on Friday, he got to work editing the eulogy he was giving at the memorial.  He wanted some help, and I jumped at the opportunity.  I figured an outside view would help, plus the rest of the family didn't really want to think anymore about Chuck's death.  I gave my tips to Dick and he was so grateful.  I told him to add more stories and make it feel less like a story in the paper and more like something to be shared among family and friends.  His eulogy was beautiful, and it made me feel really good that I was able to help my future family in a time of grief.

I've always felt pretty comfortable around the entire Rohde family, but this weekend I really felt at home.
