Oh Mom

I am home doing absolutely nothing until I run off to work at The Disney Store tonight at 5. Mom is working from home today, so when she's not at her desk, we usually find something to talk about.  She's in the midst of remodeling almost the entire house.  It's been a long time coming, and since our beloved family pet Ringer passed away this April she is now ready to start.  Among the humongous list she has for renovations is my sister's and my bathroom.

Mom wants something classic and light that she will love many years to come.  Nothing too modern that will feel dated after a few years.  We were discussing he recent purchases for the other 2 bathrooms in the house, and she said that she wanted to design my bathroom with my wedding in mind!  She said that if I were to use it to get ready the morning of the wedding, that she wanted it to be a beautiful place to feel relaxed and be able to get some great pictures out of.  My dress is ivory with champagne details and Mom is planning to use those colors in her design.  Plus the skylight could make some gorgeous photo-ops!  I can't help but feel touched that she's willing to remodel with the wedding as a major inspiration!

I always imagined getting ready for my wedding in a hotel suite, but now I'm kind of looking forward to the morning in the house I grew up in.  All my girls could stay the night since there is plenty of room, and it's one less expense for the maids.  This thought makes me so incredibly excited!!
